Crime Prevention Week - CPTED presentation

On November 5th, 2014 there will be a presentation on CPTED (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design) from 6-8 pm in the Fireside Room. What is CPTED? CPTED is a proactive design philosophy built around a core set of principles that is based on the belief that the proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a reduction in the fear and incidence of crime as well as an improvement in the quality of life. Topics covered will be; do you have proper locks on proper doors, is your lighting sufficient and effective, should that shrub be cut down, and an introduction to the Ontario Association of Chief's Police endorsed Trace pen.
