Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 76 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 17, 2024 to 5:00 am on April 18, 2024.

 

Suspicious person call leads to arrest

On the 17th of April at 4:50pm, Belleville Police were called to Dundas and Church Street regarding a suspicious male.  The male had been observed by witnesses walking in a live lane of traffic with a knife in his hand.  Officers located the male in possession of a five-inch folding knife.  The male was arrested without incident.  The subsequent investigation revealed the male was currently on a Probation Order with one of his conditions being not to be in possession of a knife unless in his residence for the purpose of preparing or eating food.  As a result, the 33-year-old Kingston resident was charged with breach of probation.  He was held for a bail hearing.   

 

Fail to Comply with a Release Order

On the 17th of April at 3:45pm, Belleville Police attended a north end business regarding an unwanted male causing issues on the property.  Officers arrived on scene and located the male.  A check of the male revealed that he was currently on two separate release orders with conditions including not be found on the north end business property.  As a result, the male was arrested without incident.  The 37-year-old of no fixed address was charged with two counts of breaching an Undertaking.  He was held for a bail hearing.
