Crime Prevention

The Police Services Act requires every police officer to prevent crimes and provide assistance and encouragement to other persons in their prevention.

The Service recognizes that crime prevention is a key component of community mobilization and that strong community partnerships are an essential element of any crime reduction strategy.

By educating and assisting community members to be more aware of their own safety, and to be proactive in the reductions of crime and eliminating the opportunity for crime, Belleville continues to be a desirable place to live and work.
