Fingerprinting

Fingerprints

In order to comply with the requirements of their release from custody, people charged with a criminal offence must attend the police facility to have their fingerprints and photograph taken.  The date to have that done will be specified in the release documents provided to them when they are released from custody.  All fingerprinting of offenders for the Belleville Police Service is carried out at the following location:

Belleville Police Service
93 Dundas Street East
Belleville, Ontario
K8N 1C2

Charged parties will need to ensure they have their release form and suitable identification with them when they attend for fingerprinting and photographs.

Getting your fingerprints taken off the police computer system

Adult fingerprints and photographs are permanently retained on the police computer system.  In order to have this information removed from the police computer system the affected party will have to obtain a pardon from the government.  Please see our sections on Pardons to learn more.
