Break, enter and theft
Belleville, Ontario – On January 8th 2019 at1:12 p.m. police responded to a home in the north end of the city for a reported theft. An investigation revealed that an outdoor shed was broken into. A snow blower and a quantity of assorted tools were stolen. The investigation is continuing. Police are asking anyone who may have information about this to please contact investigating officer Cst. Arrested on warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On January 8th 2019 at 5:46 p.m. a vehicle stop by police in Gananoque Ontario resulted in the arrest of a man wanted by Belleville Police. An investigation involving controlled drugs and substances during this initial event led to a man being arrested and turned over to city police on their arrest warrants. 25-year old Brandon Cunningham of Lyndhurst Ontario was arrested on outstanding charges of failing to appear for the Identification of Criminals Act and failing to attend court. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 9th.
Assisting ambulance results in arrests
Belleville, Ontario – On January 8th 2019 at 11:15 p.m. police were called to a residence in the west end of the city to assist EMS with a medical call. Officers responded and were informed that a female had possibly overdosed on crystal methamphetamine. The attending ambulance transported the female to Quinte Healthcare Corp where she was admitted.
During the course of this investigation police came across people hiding within the residence. The first person located was a 29-year old city female who was wanted on arrest warrants for: 4 counts of failing to comply with probation, and 3 counts of failing to comply with a recognizance. Further investigation has resulted in additional counts each of failing to comply with probation, failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking, and obstructing a police officer in the lawful execution of her duty. The female is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
A second person was also found hiding in the basement portion of the residence. Police arrested 37-year old Shane Michael McFarland of Belleville. McFarland was wanted from an investigation earlier this week in a fraud matter. McFarland was taken into custody without incident and charged with obtaining transportation by fraud. He has been released on a promise-to-appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in February.
