The Belleville Police Service responded to 38 calls for service between February 6th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and February 7th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.
Male arrested using counterfeit money
Belleviile, ON- On the 6th of February 2019 at 10:35 a.m., police were called to a Bell Boulevard business after a male attempted to purchase gas with a counterfeit $100 bill. Police were called after staff refused payment and the male began causing a disturbance. Police located the male and he was arrested. A 52 year-old male from Toronto was charged with offences related to the making and using of counterfeit money. The male is also wanted in Toronto for similar offences. He was held for a bail hearing.
Suspended driver charged
Belleville, ON- On the 6th of February 2019 at 8:20 p.m., police on routine general patrol on Charles Street located a vehicle belonging to a suspended driver. Police stopped the vehicle and learned that the driver was also required to have an ignition interlock device in his vehicle. A 33 year-old Belleville man was charged with drive under suspension and driving without an ignition interlock device. He will appear in court in March.
