The Belleville Police Service responded to 81 calls for service between October 9th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and October 10th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Domestic Assault

Belleville, Ontario – On the 9th of October 2019 at 8:10 p.m. Police responded to a residence on Sidney Street regarding a report of a domestic. An investigation revealed that a female was assaulted by her partner, a 22-year-old Belleville man. Subsequently, the male was arrested for two counts of domestic assault and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a Promise to Appear. He was given a court date of the 28th of October to face the charges.

His name is not being released to protect the identity of the female victim and their children.

 

Belleville, Ontario – On the 9th of October 2019 at 11:50 p.m. Police responded to the area of Hwy 62 and Millennium Parkway regarding a report of a Domestic disturbance. Police attended and conducted an investigation which revealed a 33-year-old male was found to be breaching his recognizance. The male was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching his recognizance. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail.

 

Shoplifting Incident resulting in charges

Belleville, Ontario – On the 9th of October 2019 at 9:50 p.m. Police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway regarding a report of a male shoplifter. On arrival, Police conducted an investigation and learned a male had stolen several items and exited the store. The male was arrested and identified as 36-year-old Matthew McBeth. He was released from the scene on an Appearance Notice where he was given a court date of the 31st of October 2019 to face the charges.

 

 

 

Arrested on Warrants

Belleville, Ontario – On the 9th of October 2019 at 6:00 p.m. Police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway after receiving information that a male, who was wanted by Police, was within the business. Police attended and located the wanted Belleville male, 24-year-old Joseph McDonald, and placed him under arrest on the strength of the outstanding warrants. He was then transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail.

Belleville, Ontario – Police report a fairly steady night on Wednesday night, into Thursday morning, having attended to domestic disputes, neighbour and family disputes, traffic complaints, and harassment issues. Arrests were made, all while preserving the peace throughout the City.
