Belleville Police Service responded to 89 calls for service from the 26th of June 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 27th of June 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, ON – On the 26th of June at 2:30 p.m. Police responded to the area of North Front Street regarding a three-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported although two of the vehicles sustained significant damage. The at fault driver was charged with Fail to Yield at Three-Way Stop and was issued a Provincial Offences Notice.

Unsafe Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario – On the 26th of June at 8:55 p.m. members of the Belleville Police Service Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling in the area of Dundas Street West that was not fit to be on the roadway. Police performed a traffic stop and conducted an investigation that revealed the vehicle in question was not fit to be on the roadway. As a result, the vehicle owner was charged with Operate Unsafe Vehicle and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving & Flight from Police

Belleville, ON – On the 27th of June 2020 at 3:20 a.m. Police observed a driver travelling in the area of Moira Street driving erratically with no headlights on. A short Police pursuit ensued, that ended safely in the area of Albion Street. Police conducted an investigation resulting in the arrest of 42-year-old, Belleville male, Jamie Crozier for Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving and Flight from Police. He is to be released on an Undertaking, given a court date of August 20th, 2020 to face the charges.

City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on June 27th   2020.  Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance. Police also dealt with several Mental Health calls and multiple minor collisions that were referred to the Belleville Police Service Collision Reporting Centre.
