Welcome to our website!
As Chief of Police I would like to welcome you to our website which will enhance our ability to communicate, further connecting us with our community in a virtual manner. Our ability to communicate with the citizens of Belleville plays a vital role in developing important partnerships, crucial to the ultimate goal of being one of the safest communities in Canada. I am privileged as Chief of Police to lead and work with the talented and dedicated members of the Belleville Police Service towards our vision of "Service Excellence".
Our new website has maintained many of the features that have proven to be effective. Our goal is to constantly update this site and to have it continually evolve providing the latest information on our community, programs, services and top news events. Some of our new features include; a user driven crime analytic "Crime Map" which will be updated daily with the services crime stats, E-Reporting which will permit citizens to report property crimes, and electronic filing of our Criminal Record Checks.
We want to hear from the citizens we serve and have added new features including the poll of the week and the traffic question of the week (this will be driven by members of the community writing in to "ask the traffic experts"). Additional links with our community partners and service providers such as OIPRD, FOI and Canadian Firearms Centre have been added for ease of access.
The purpose of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA) is to improve opportunities for people with disabilities and to provide for their involvement in the identification, removal, and prevention of barriers to their full participation in the life of the province. To this end, the Belleville Police Service has made every effort to make their website accessible and easy to use for everyone, no matter which browser you use, and whether or not you have disabilities.
This website will contribute to the many goals and objectives the Belleville Police Service has set in the Strategic Business Plan including zone policing, differential response and increasing our community's capacity to effectively deal with crime. By working together, members of the Belleville Police Service, citizens of our community, organizations and services will have the greatest success.
