UPDATE - Robbery
Belleville, Ontario – On November 1st 2019 at 11:30 a.m. a 14-year old male suspect in this investigation was observed walking on the east side of the city. At 11:36 a.m. the suspect was placed under arrest for the robbery which occurred on October 31st, 2019 near the Eastside Secondary School. The youth also faces a charge of failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking. He was secured into custody for a bail hearing. Police are not looking for any further suspects, and would like to extend sincere thanks to the members of the public for information provided during this investigation.
ORIGINAL RELEASE - Robbery
Belleville, Ontario – On October 31st 2019 at 9:50 a.m. police were called about a robbery in the area of Eastside Secondary School. Responding officers learned from a complainant that a young 13-year old male victim had a knife pulled on him by another young male suspect, demanding the victim to turn over his shoes. The suspect was described as wearing a red-hooded sweater. A second male suspect was also described as wearing a light-coloured brown jacket. Both were observed heading in a northbound direction on Farley Avenue, heading towards Station Street. The victim did not suffer any injuries. The initial investigation has identified a 14-year old suspect, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He is wanted for the offences of robbery and breaching release conditions from an earlier custody-release order. The investigation is continuing.
