Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 61 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 10th of January, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 11th of January, 2022

Motor Vehicle Collision

On the 10th of January, 2022 at 11:30 am Belleville Police attended the intersection of Station Street and Cannifton Road Belleville, Ontario regarding a motor vehicle collision.  Officers arrived on scene and determined there were no injuries but neither of the vehicles were driveable.  As a result of the investigation a 59-year-old Mississauga, Ontario man was charged with making a turn not in safety.

Suspended driver

On the 10th of January, 2022 at 1:30 pm Belleville Police observed a vehicle driving on North Park Street Belleville, Ontario.  The driver was known to the officer to be a suspended driver.  A vehicle stop was conducted and it was confirmed that the driver was suspended.  As a result of the investigation the 29-year-old Quinte West, Ontario resident was charged with driving a motor vehicle while suspended and released with a January 31st 2022 court date.

Two fail to remain collisions

Belleville Police is asking the public for assistance in locating a vehicle which left the scene of two separate accidents. 

On the 10th of January, 2022 at 2:30 pm Belleville Police were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of Valleyview Crescent and North Front Street Belleville, Ontario.  Officers arrived on scene and learned that one of the vehicles failed to remain at the scene.  No injuries occurred as a result of that collision.

At 3:00 pm on the 10th of January, 2022 Belleville Police were called to the area of Sidney Street and College Street Belleville, Ontario regarding another collision in which one of the vehicles left the scene. Again, no injuries were reported at this collision.  It is believed that it was the same vehicle which failed to remain at both collision scenes. 

Belleville Police are looking to identify the vehicle involved in both collisions described as dark coloured, possibly burgundy Ford F-150 with damage to the front and the driver’s side of the vehicle.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Belleville Police.

Break and Enter – Breach of Probation

On the 11th of January, 2021 at 12:00 am Belleville Police attended an east end residence regarding a complaint for a number of bail violations.  Officer learned that the ex-boyfriend of the caller had walked into her residence even though he was currently on probation and a release order with conditions not to communicate with her or attend her residence. The male was no longer on scene when police arrived but was located and arrested at a north end business an hour later. As a result of the investigation the 40-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident was charged with break and enter, two counts of failing to comply with probation Order and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. The male was held for a bail hearing on the 11th of January, 2022. The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
