Impaired Driver-Refuse Roadside
Belleville, Ontario – On February 28th, 2018, at 3:27 p.m. police took a report of a possible impaired driver going eastbound on Dundas St. E from South Front St. Officers responded to the area and quickly located the vehicle at a Dundas St E business.
The driver had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Officers made a roadside demand for the driver to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device. After several opportunities, the driver refused to provide a breath sample. 58 year old Kevin Macmillan, of Port Colborne, is charged with failing to provide a breath sample on an Approved Screening device. He will appear in court on March 8th, 2018.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville, Ontario – On February 28th, 2018 police responded to a total of 4 motor vehicle collisions.
At 10:31 a.m. a two vehicle collision in a parking lot on College St. West. There was minor damage. No charges were laid.
At 1:56 p.m. police attended on Church St and Victoria Ave in relation to a two-car collision that caused minor traffic congestion. One driver was taken by EMS to Belleville General and treated for minor injuries. Both cars were towed from the scene. One driver was charged with fail to stop at a red light.
At 3:12 p.m. police attended on University Ave for a three vehicle collision. One vehicle had to be towed. The drivers attended at the police station to file an accident report. There were no injuries.
At 4:27 p.m. a two-car collision occurred on Sidney St at College St. W. One vehicle had to be towed from scene. There were no injuries. One driver was charged with improper left turn.
