CDSA Search Warrants Executed

 

Belleville, Ont - On Tuesday March 31, 2009 at approximately 2:00p.m., members of the Belleville Police Service with the assistance of the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit, Project Longarm and Belleville Police Service Emergency Response Team executed two CDSA warrants at a Bridge Street East apartment building.  

 

Both search warrants were executed simultaneously where two occupants were arrested. When police entered one of the apartments one of the occupants attempted to avoid arrest by fleeing to the balcony and jumped to the balcony of the apartment below. He then broke into this apartment by forcing the balcony door. This suspect was arrested in the hallway as he attempted to leave this second apartment.

 

This second apartment was being occupied by an elderly female who locked the door as the suspect fled from her apartment therefore preventing him from re entering when he encountered police in the hallway. He was arrested without incident.

 

A 23 year old Etobicoke male is charged with one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking ? Cocaine, one count of Forcible Entry, five counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking, one count of Possession of Marihuana and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

A 21 year old North York female was charged with one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking ? Cocaine, one count of Possession of Marihuana and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Both male and female are being held for Bail Hearings scheduled for later this date.

 

Police seized a quantity of cocaine valued at approximately $3000.00, another $3000.00 in cash, and various drug paraphernalia.
