Break and enter//theft of a pick-up truck

Belleville, Ontario On March 31st, at 5:52 p.m., police responded to an alarm at a business on Parks Drive in Thurlow Ward. As police were responding, a witness phoned police to advise that she observed the company truck on Foxboro-Stirling Road approaching Stirling. This truck was confirmed as being stolen from the fenced compound of the business on Parks Drive. An officer with the Stirling-Rawdon Police Service observed this truck northbound on Hwy #14 north of Stirling. The officer continued to follow the truck from a distance as other officers from Stirling and Belleville were closing in. The truck turned onto Kings Mill Road where it was eventually stopped. The driver, the lone occupant, was arrested without incident. Property was seized within this truck including tools and a container of coins. The driver, a 21 year old Centre Hastings man, was also wanted on warrants by the Belleville Police Service for Mischief.

At 7:00 p.m., a motorist returned to the car pool lot on Cannifton Road at the 401 to discover that someone had attempted to steal his parked truck. The ignition had been tampered with and tools had been stolen. Police discovered a second truck nearby in this lot that had been entered and the ignition tampered with. Loose change had been stolen. The property that was stolen from the parked trucks was located in the stolen company truck. The male remains in custody on charges of Break, enter and theft, two counts of attempted theft of a motor vehicle, and drive while under suspension.


Belleville, Ontario On April 1st, 2013, at 1:30 a.m.., police attended at a west end residence in relation to complaint of a threat. A 39 year old Belleville man was arrested for an assault on a woman. The woman was not injured. The accused will appear in court on April 22nd, 2013.
