Unwanted Person Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 5:02 pm on July 31, 2013 police were called to an Ann Street residence to investigate a report of an unwanted male who was refusing to leave the premises. Upon arrival they discovered the suspect who was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for his own protection and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a Provincial Offence Notice. A 23 year old Belleville man faces a charge of Public Intoxication.

Liquor Licence Act Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 5:48 pm on July 31, 2013 police were called to the Riverfront Trail on Front Street north of Dundas Street East to investigate a report of a male who was passed out lying on the ground. Upon arrival officers found that the male was intoxicated and arrested him for his own protection. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service and later released on a Provincial Offence Notice. A 36 year old Belleville man faces a charge of Public Intoxication.

Liquor Licence Act Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 9:07 pm on July 31, 2013 police were called to a Front Street business to investigate a report of a drunken male relieving himself on the side of the establishment. Upon arrival they located the male and arrested him for his own protection and transported him to the Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a Provincial Offences Notice. A 53 year old man faces a charge of Public Intoxication.

Warrants Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 2:18 am on August 1, 2013 an officer on patrol pulled over a vehicle on Bridge Street West near James Street for a traffic infraction. Upon checking the driver, it was discovered that he had outstanding warrants for his arrest held by the Belleville Police Service for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Failing to Appear in Court. He was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a Promise to Appear. Joel Mathlin, 31, of Marysville will appear in court on August 15, 2013 to answer to the aforementioned charges.

Assault Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 2:27 am on August 1, 2013 police were called to a Front Street business to investigate a report of a male being assaulted. Upon arrival they found the victim had been beaten by a group of up to 8 males in the parking lot and had suffered serious but non- life threatening injuries. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to the Belleville General Hospital. A witness reported that some of the suspects left in a dark coloured Dodge Ram pickup truck with large tires. Anyone with any information is asked to call Quinte Crimestoppers or the Belleville Police Service.

Domestic Dispute Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 2:49 am on August 1, 2013 police were called to a Lingham Street residence to investigate a report of a female being assaulted by her boyfriend. Upon arrival they found the victim who did not suffer any injuries as a result of the incident. The male suspect was arrested at the scene and transported to the Belleville Police Service. The 33 year old Belleville man was later released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of September 16, 2013 charged with one count of assault. His name will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
