Belleville, Ontario - on 31 December, 2012 at 11:37 p.m., police attended at 2 residences on Hastings Drive in response to a report of break and enters. Investigation revealed that the culprit(s) forced entry into the residences by breaking windows where a mirror was reported stolen.

Operation of Motor Vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol

Belleville, Ontario on 31 December, 2012 at 7:21 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle on Front Street that was driving in an erratic manner. Investigation of this incident resulted in the driver being charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol. Christopher Hoos of Belleville will appear in Provincial court January, 2013.

Belleville, Ontario 1 January, 2013 at 3:00 a.m. officers observed a vehicle travelling south bound on North Front Street at high rate of speed. Investigation of this incident resulted in the driver being charged with one count of Operation of Motor Vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol. A 20 year old female from London will appear in Provincial Court on 7 Feb/13.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Spot checks

Belleville, Ontario - Police checked 400 vehicles at various checkpoints. There was one charge issued in relation to the Liquor License Act of Ontario and one charged issued in relation to the Highway Traffic Act.

Flashing Red Lights at Bridge and Pinnacle Streets

Belleville Police Service would like to remind drivers that when approaching an intersection that is governed by 4 flashing red lights motorists must come to a complete stop and then proceed through the intersection when safe to do so.
