Belleville, Ont. - Overnight of 30Jun-1Jul 09, Belleville Police Service responded to several noise complaints involving loud yard and house parties. Belleville Police Service would like remind the public the noise by-law is in effect 24-7. Potentially the host or hostess can face fines under the noise by-law and even be charged with Mischief under the Criminal Code which if convicted could yield a jail sentence, a fine, and/or a probation. A 24 year old old East hill Belleville male was charged under the noise by-law after officers were called back to his residence.
Belleville, Ont. ? On July 1, 2009, at approximately 1:35 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a male in a parking lot of a north end Belleville bar. It appeared to the officer the male was damaging a vehicle parked in the lot. The male fled the area but after a short foot chase was arrested. A 20 year old Selby male has was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Escape Lawful Custody. He will appear in court in August 2009. Also arrested within this incident was another 20 year old male who was found to be Intoxicated in a Public Place and was charged accordingly under the Liquor Licence Act.
Domestic Assault & Threats
Belleville, Ont. - On July 1, 2009, at 8:30 p.m. the Belleville Police Service were dispatched to a residence in the West end of the City regarding a Domestic Dispute between a male and female. The male was arrested for one count of Assault and Uttering Threats. It is alleged he threatened to burn down the residence. A container of accelerant was also seized. The male was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in July 2009.
Domestic Assault & Mischief
Belleville, Ont. - On July 1, 2009, at 8:00 p.m., members of the Belleville Police Service investigated a complaint of a domestic assault in the north area of the City. A 31 year old Belleville male was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Assault and 1 count of Mischief Under $5000. The male was held for a bail hearing set for July 2, 2009.
Motor vehicle Collision
Belleville, Ont. - On July 1, 2009, 10:52 p.m., the Belleville Police were dispatched to a 2 car motor vehicle collision on Queen Street at George Street. A Belleville woman was charged Disobeying a Stop Sign contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
