The Belleville Police Service responded to 85 calls for service between April 30th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and May 1st, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Motor vehicle collision

Belleville, Ontario – On the 30th of April 2019, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police were called to an area near Highway #37 and Phillipston Road regarding a motor vehicle collision. One driver swerved over the dividing line colliding with an oncoming vehicle. Fortunately, no one was hurt and the driver responsible for the collision was charged under The Highway Traffic Act.

Liquor License Act

Belleville, Ontario – On the 1st of May 2019, at approximately 1:04 a.m., police attended Front Street and Victoria Street regarding a male causing a disturbance. Officers quickly ascertained that the male had consumed a large amount of alcohol and was arrested for his own safety. A 40 year old Belleville man was charged for being intoxicated in a public place and later released with a provincial offence notice.
