Arrest made in Arson

Belleville ON- On 31 August 2019 at 11:15am, Belleville Police responded to Front Street regarding a fire. As police checked the scene, it was clear that the fire had been deliberately set, and the suspect had fled out of a window. The female was quickly located by police. A 39 year-old Belleville female was arrested for arson. Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Ian Jarvis at 613-966-0882 ext 2312, or ijarvis@police.belleville.on.ca . The name of the female is being withheld at this time as the incident is still under investigation.

Arrests on warrants

Belleville, ON- On August 31st 2019 at 2:25pm, Belleville Police received a call regarding a suspicious male in the downtown core. Police located the male who was known to have an outstanding warrant for breaching his probation. The 32 year-old Belleville resident was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

Belleville ON-On September 1, 2019 at 3am, Belleville Police located a male in the west end of the city who was currently wanted on an outstanding warrant.  A search of the male upon his arrest resulted in the discovery of a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and crack cocaine.  The 37 year-old Belleville resident was charged with possession of the drugs breaching his recognizance and was held for a bail hearing.

 

Police continue to deal with non-emergency 911 calls

Belleville ON- Belleville Police continue to deal with a large volume of non-emergency or pocket dial 911 calls. On 31 August, Belleville Police received 16 non-emergency 911 calls, the majority of which were pocket dials. Police are asking people to be cognizant of emergency calls made on the
