Belleville – At approximately 5:15 A.M. on the 1st of June police responded to the report of an accident on College St. West where a vehicle had driven over the curb and into a building belonging to a local business. Minor damage was sustained to the property. Shortly after police arrived they determined that the driver was impaired and she was arrested and taken to The Belleville Police Service for intoxilyzer tests. Thirty-three year old Belleville resident, Alexis Domney, was later released on a promise to appear on charges of impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit. She will appear in court later this month to answer to the charges. There were no injuries sustained in the accident and Domney was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
Belleville - At approximately 2:30 P.M. police responded to a north end retail store with regards to two female shoplifters who reportedly put clothing on after removing the tags and then attempted to leave the store without paying for them. One female, a 52 year old Belleville resident was fined under the trespass to property act while the other, a 32 year old Tweed resident was charged criminally with theft under $5000.
