Impaired Driver

Belleville, Ontario – On the 1st of November at 4:37pm, the Belleville Police Service attended to a single motor vehicle collision on Dunbar St. where the vehicle struck a utility pole knocking down wires.  The lone occupant of the vehicle was not injured. 

Officers attended and spoke to a witness who was following the vehicle and had their “dash cam” turned on which recorded the entire incident.  Following the collision, the driver attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle but was located a short distance away. 

The 46 year old female driver from Belleville was arrested at the scene for impaired driving by alcohol.  During the course of the investigation it was learned that the female was on her way to a nearby school to pick up her children. 

The driver was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 and released on a Promise to Appear with a November court date.
