Belleville, Ontario – On December 2nd, 2013, between 8:55 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. police investigated 8 accidents. Most of these were minor accidents except for one:

At 2:40 p.m. a vehicle struck the wall of a building on Bridge St. E. There were no injuries, nor were there any charges as the accident occurred on private property.

Wanted person(s)

Belleville, Ontario –On December 2nd, 2013 at 8:15 p.m. police located a wanted male on Herchimer Ave. The 51 year old Belleville man missed a sentencing date on November 29th in Belleville court. He had been sentenced to four months in custody for an impaired driving conviction. He was transported to the Quinte Regional Detention Centre to start his sentence.

(2) On December 2nd, 2013 at 11:55 p.m. police attended at a residence on Cannifton Road in relation to a complaint of an assault. Police were advised that the suspect left the area in a taxi. The taxi was located in the City's north end and stopped. The fare initially provided a false name to police. He was arrested for assault and taken into custody. He was searched and a quantity of narcotics was seized including cocaine, marijuana, morphine, oxycodone, and hydromorphcontin. A further check revealed that he was wanted on outstanding warrants by the Belleville Police Service for breach of probation and failing to appear in court.

The 25 year old Belleville man was held in custody for a bail hearing on December 3rd 2013 on two counts of domestic assault, obstructing police, breach of probation, and five counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will also face the charges named in the warrants.

The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

(3) On December 3rd, 2013, at 3:20 a.m. a 29 year old Toronto man turned himself in at the Belleville Police station on an outstanding warrant. The charge was possession of stolen property. He was held for a bail hearing on December 3rd, 2013.
