Belleville, Ontario – On December 2nd, 2015, at 2:12 p.m. police attended on Coleman Street in response to an assault complaint. A male adult had been punched in the face by two male youths who had fled the area. The victim suffered a broken jaw in the attack and was transferred to Kingston General Hospital. Both suspects were located and charged with aggravated assault. An 18 year old Belleville man was held for a bail hearing on December 3rd, 2015. His accomplice, a 17-year old youth, was released to his parents and will appear in Belleville Youth Court in January 2016.
Belleville, Ontario – On December 2nd, 2015, at 10:45 p.m. police attended at the Duke Pub on Front Street as a male had damaged an overhead light and several potted plants. He refused to leave the bar when requested to do so. A 26 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5000.00 and breach of probation. A small quantity of marijuana was located on him during the search. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was held for a bail hearing on December 3rd, 2015.
During this investigation, officers checked on the friend of the arrested party. The 23-year old Belleville man was wanted by Collingwood OPP on charges of breach of probation and failing to appear in court. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for an OPP escort.
Belleville, Ontario - On December 2nd, 2015, at 8:15 a.m. police attended at a residence on Bridge Street East in relation to an unwanted male. A 32 year old Belleville was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
On December 2nd, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. police attended on Bridge Street West at Sidney Street in relation to an unruly male challenging people to fight. A 45 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
On December 3rd, 2015, at 12:15 a.m. police attended on Grove Street as several calls were received about a couple arguing in the street. A 29 year old Trenton man was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
Belleville, Ontario – The Belleville Police Service RIDE team was kept busy overnight. 420 cars were checked during the course of the evening.
Two “drinking” motorists registered a “Warn” during their respective roadside breath tests. Both had their vehicles towed and their driver’s licences suspended for three days.
One motorist attempted to evade the RIDE checkpoint. He was stopped and a check revealed that he was a suspended driver. His car was towed and the driver will appear in Traffic Court in January 2016 on a charge of driving while under suspension.
On December 3rd, 2015, at 2:15 p.m. officers observed a vehicle speeding on North Front Street. The car was stopped and the officers recognized the driver as being a prohibited driver. 22-year old Brandon Ross of Belleville was charged with driving while prohibited. He will appear in Belleville Provincial Court on January 14th, 2016. Under the Vehicle Impoundment Program, the vehicle he was driving was impounded for six months. (180 days).
