Motor vehicle collision

 

Belleville – On the 2nd of December at approximately 7:00 P.M. police responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Casey Rd. in Thurlow Township where a vehicle traveling westbound ran off the road striking a hydro pole severing the pole in half and pulling down the hydro wires in the process. Police, Ambulance and Fire attended the scene and the lone occupant, a 38 year old male driver from Deseronto, was taken to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries. A section of Casey Rd. was closed for several hours while Hydro attended the scene to repair the downed lines and replace the pole. The driver was charged with careless driving, driving without insurance and driving with an expired license plate. He was given a January 2018 court date to answer to the charges.
