Dangerous Conditions

Belleville, Ont. ? On the 3rd of February 2009 at 8:25 am Belleville Police received a call assistance from a Quinte West resident advising that his truck had just fallen through the ice on the Bay of Quinte.  He was going ice fishing when the back of the truck broke through the ice.  All occupants safely exited the truck and as they were walking to shore the truck totally went under.  This occurred approximately mile from the west end boat ramp at Point Anne Lane.  Belleville Police requested the assistance from Public Works for barricades and the Fire Department to place the barricades around the hole in the ice.  Police remind everyone the dangers associated to hazardous and unsafe ice conditions.
