Accidents

 

Belleville, Ontario – On February 2nd, 2015, police responded to 11 accidents throughout the City and area roads.  Four accidents were reported on Hwy 2 East as follows:

 

-at 11:06 a.m. a single vehicle left the roadway and ended up in the ditch.  There were no reported injuries.

 

-at 2:34 p.m. another single vehicle left the roadway and ended up in the ditch. There were no reported injuries.

 

-at 6:01 p.m. police and EMS attended a two-car accident as both cars had slid off the roadway. No one required medical attention.

 

-at 8:42 p.m. police and EMS attended a two-car accident. A third vehicle was present in the ditch but it had slid in prior to this accident occurring. One of the drivers was taken by EMS to Quinte Health Care with minor injuries. One of the vehicles had to be towed.

 

 

On February 2nd, 2015, at 8:52 a.m. police attended in the parking lot of the Bayview Mall in relation to a hit-and-run accident.  A parked car had its front bumper ripped off and according to witnesses the offending vehicle had fled the scene.  This vehicle was located and a 40 year old Belleville man was charged with failing to report an accident.

 

Other accident scenes included Bridge/Sidney, Cannifton/Station and Bell/N. Park.

 

 

Police continue to remind motorists to "reduce your speed” during inclement weather.  Allow more room between yourself and the car ahead of you.
