Belleville, Ont. -  At approximately 6:40 pm on January 3rd 2009, Belleville officers executed an arrest warrant on a 34 year old Odessa man who had been arrested by the Napanee O.P.P. on the strength of a Belleville Police Warrant. He was returned to Belleville and now faces charges stemming from his arrest in Belleville on December 18th 2008.  He was originally charged with Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 as a result of a shoplifting incident in a local retail store.  At the time of his arrest he provided Police with a false name and was released from custody. It was later learned that he had lied to Police about his identity and as a result a warrant was issued further charging him with Obstructing a Peace Officer and Personation With Intent.  He has been held for a Show Cause Hearing on January 5th 2009.

Break and Enter

Belleville, Ont., - At approximately 9:44 pm on January 3, 2009 police were called to a Moira Street East residence to investigate a report of a break and enter.   Further investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) had entered the residence between 12:30 pm and 9:15 pm through a living room window.  Nothing was reported as stolen from inside the residence and there are no known suspects at this time.
