Impaired Drivers

Belleville, Ontario On November 2nd, 2013, at 8:51 p.m. an officer on patrol observed a pick-up truck weaving within its own lane on Cannifton Road. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. Joshua Fitzpatrick, 24, of Stoney Creek, Ontario will appear in court on December 19th on charges of Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs. At the time of the vehicle stop, a passenger in the truck was arrested for public intoxication. A 30 year old Deseronto man was charged under the Liquor Licence Act.

On November 3rd, 2013, at 12:45 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a pick-up truck travelling on Bell Blvd without its headlights activated. The truck went through a red light and was eventually stopped. A 17 year old youth was arrested for impaired driving. During the search, marijuana was found. As the officers were attempting to contact the owner of the truck, the owner was calling police to report his truck stolen from a north end motel parking lot in Belleville. The youth faces charges of impaired driving, over 80 mgs, break enter and theft, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and three counts of breach of probation. He will appear in Youth Court on December 3rd, 2013.
