Stolen vehicle

Belleville, Ontario – On October 2nd, 2018, at 6:52 a.m. police attended on Alexander Street regarding a stolen vehicle. Sometime overnight unknown persons stole a 2008 Dodge Caravan. It is black in colour and has Ontario licence plates CEWA 592.

 

Recovered stolen vehicle

Belleville, Ontario – On October 2nd, 2018, at 2:29 p.m. police attended in a parking lot on Bell Blvd. regarding a vehicle that had just pulled in. The vehicle and occupants were linked to a theft of a purse from Sept. 8th at the same location. Credit cards from the purse were used at multiple locations in the local area. On this date the officers noted that the parked Jaguar in question had two different licence plates on it. A further check revealed that the 2003 Jaguar had been reported stolen to the Durham Regional Police on September 28th, 2018. Officers located and arrested the couple nearby who had exited the vehicle. The 38-year-old Frankford man was wanted by the Quinte West OPP on a long list of charges. He was turned over the Quinte West OPP and held for a bail hearing on October 3rd, 2018. He was also facing additional charges in Belleville which included being in possession of a stolen vehicle, seven counts of fraud under $5000., theft under $5000. and three counts of breach of probation. His accomplice, 36-year-old Susan Hannah of Frankford, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, theft under $5000. and seven counts of fraud under $5000.  She will appear in court in Belleville on October 25th, 2018.

 

Arrest in a residential B&E

Belleville, Ontario – On October 2nd, 2018, at 9:00 p.m. police attended on North Front Street at Valleyview Crescent regarding a suspicious male. A check revealed that the 54-year-old male was wanted on an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and a search revealed a large quantity of jewelry in his possession. This included gold bracelets, rings, gold chains, pendants, earrings and a watch. The arresting officer recognized the jewelry has she had taken the report of the stolen jewelry from a break and enter at a residence on Elvins Gardens on October 2nd, 2018. The male will appear in court on October 25th, 2018.

 

Motor vehicle collisions

Belleville, Ontario – On October 2nd, 2018 police responded to five motor vehicle collisions.

At 12:00 noon a car struck a building on Front St. at Bridge St. East. The airbags were deployed in the vehicle. The 91-year-old male driver was taken to hospital by paramedics with minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.
