Belleville, Ontario – On April 3rd, 2014, at 8:12 a.m. a motorist was stopped for speeding in a school zone on Palmer Road. A further check revealed that his driver’s licence was under suspension. The 27 year old Belleville man will appear in Traffic Court on charges of speeding and driving while under suspension.
At 8:33 a.m. police attended on Dundas Street West in relation to a two car accident. No one was injured, and the investigation is continuing.
At 12:46 p.m. police attended on Cascade Blvd. as a pick-up truck had struck a house. No was injured in this accident. The vehicle was demolished while the house sustained approximately $15,000.00 damage. The driver, a 52 year old Frankford man, provided a breath sample at the scene resulting in a three-day licence suspension. His driver’s licence was seized at that time. Anyone with information on this accident can contact Cst. Rob Travers of the Traffic Management Unit as the investigation is continuing.
On April 4th, 2014, at 12:45 a.m. police attended at the Norris Whitney Bridge in relation to an accident where one of the vehicles failed to remain at the scene. Both vehicles were initially southbound at the base of the bridge on the north side. The vehicle that failed to remain was last seen heading south on Hwy 62. It is described as a white Dodge pick-up. There were no reported injuries.
Belleville, Ontario – On April 3rd, 2014, at 9:29 a.m. police attended on Orchard Drive in relation to as assault complaint. As a result of the investigation a 14 year old female was charged with assault. She will appear in Youth Court in May. The victim did not require medical attention.
At 11:40 a.m. police attended on Scuttlehole Road in Thurlow Ward in relation to a two car accident. It was learned that one of the vehicles had rammed the other vehicle. A male exited the first vehicle with a baseball bat and smashed out the windshield of the second vehicle. A 31 year old Belleville man was arrested at the scene. He will appear in court on charges of dangerous driving and mischief to property. The victim was treated for minor injuries.
At 3:25 p.m. police attended on Pine Street in relation to a large fight. Police identified the combatants and a canister of pepper spray was seized. No one was injured and the investigation is continuing.

Belleville, Ontario –On April 3rd, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. police attended at Albert College in relation to a trespasser who had been detained by staff members. The man was observed exiting one of the rooms. A laptop computer was removed from his backpack which belonged to one of the students. The 53 year old Bancroft man was arrested and held for a bail hearing on April 4th. He faces charges of break and enter with intent and theft under $5000.00.
