Belleville – A 23 year old Belleville male is in custody and is being held for a bail hearing after city police responded to a call at 11:00 P.M. pm on the 3rd of August of threatening messages being sent to a female resident of Belleville. He is facing charges including threats and possession of a weapon, being an electric conductivity weapon, also known as a Taser. The male’s identity is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.



Public intoxication


Belleville – After a second call to a west end residence with regards to disturbances, a 57 year old male was arrested for public intoxication for his, and others, protection. Police were initially called shortly after 7:30 P.M. on the 3rd of August to a report of two males in adjacent apartments arguing and after speaking to both males and having them agree to keep to themselves and stay inside their respective apartments police cleared only to be called back with regards to a physical confrontation leading the arrest of one of the males. The Belleville resident spent the night in cells and was released in the morning on a provincial offence notice.
