Domestic Assault

Belleville – At approximately 11:30 A.M. on the 3rd of July police attended an apartment building in the City’s west end with regards to a report of a domestic assault. A 27 year old female was on scene however the involved male party left prior to police arrival. As a result of their investigation, police are now looking for a 35 year old male resident of Belleville. He is wanted for charges of assault and uttering threats. There were no serious injuries sustained by the victim as a result of the incident and the name of the wanted party is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

Threats

Belleville – After being called to a Thurlow group home on a number of occasions police eventually were forced to arrest an unruly resident of the home shortly before midnight on the 3rd of July. After being spoken to by police and given every opportunity to curb his behaviour, a 16 year old male was taken into custody for the night. The youth, who cannot be named due to The Youth Criminal Justice Act, was released on a promise to appear with an August court date on charges of uttering threats and four counts of breaching his undertaking.

 

Arrest Warrant

Belleville – A former resident of Belleville who now resides in Calgary had his homecoming cut short after he was arrested on outstanding warrants from 2010. The 33 year old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant, which included assault with a weapon, uttering threats and failing to attend for fingerprints and for court, by The Centre Hastings detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police in Tweed shortly before midnight on the 3rd of July. He was transported to The Belleville Police Service where he will be taken before a Justice of The Peace at a show cause hearing on the 4th of July.
