Bell Canada and Hydro have finished repairs and the roadway is now open after an almost 11 hour closure. 


(previous) update - Traffic Alert - Belleville Police Service – road closure  

In the east end of Belleville, Highway 2 in the Point Anne area is still currently closed due to a motor vehicle collision after a vehicle left the roadway at 6:54 a.m. and struck a hydro pole which is currently down. No injuries.  Police and Fire services are still at scene. Ontario Hydro crews have also responded.

The roadway is expected to be closed at least until 3pm. 

Highway 2 is closed westbound at Mitchell Road and eastbound at Elmwood Drive. Only local Point Anne area traffic is being allowed thru the police barriers.  

Please avoid the area and use Airport Parkway as an alternate.

The driver, a 24 year old Selby area man has been charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act and issued an alcohol related 3 day driver’s license suspension.
