The Belleville Police Service responded to 70 calls between June 3rd 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and June 4th 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Man jumps off foot bridge.

Belleville, Ont – On the 3rd of June 2019 shortly before 6:00pm a male jumped off the footbridge connecting the downtown to Coleman St. The male, in his 50’s was able to swim to shore without sustaining any severe physical injuries.  He was transported to Belleville General Hospital for assessment.

Theft from a shed.

Belleville, Ont – On the 3rd of June 2019 at approximately 11:00am, police took a report of a shed being entered sometime overnight in the east end of Belleville.  Stolen, were a classical guitar and a remote starter for an electric scooter.  Currently there are not suspects.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Cst. ‘Jay-walkers’ charged.

Belleville, Ont – On the 3rd of June 2019 two men, both of Belleville were charged after being caught ‘jay-walking’.  The pair crossed Front St. at Bridge St. on a red light, which forced vehicles that had the right of way to come to a stop and wait for them to cross.  Subsequently, the pair was charged with ‘Pedestrian disobey red light’ which carries $50.00 fine.
