Liquor Licence Charges
On March 4th 2018 at 1:02 a.m. police arrested and charged a 38-year old Belleville man who was found to be intoxicated outside a North Front Street establishment. The man was taken into custody for his own protection until sober and released with a provincial offence notice.
At 2:33 a.m. on March 4th 2018 police re-attended to the North Front Street area and arrested a second male who was found to be intoxicated by alcohol. A 26-year old Prince Edward County man was taken into custody for his own protection until sober and was released with a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
Fire
On March 4th 2018 at 2:54 a.m. police responded to assist the Belleville Department at a location for a fire in a laundry room inside a building in the north-west side of the city. The fire was contained to just the one room and there were no reported injuries. Damage was reported to be mostly minor smoke damage.
Stolen Motor Vehicle / Purse
On March 4th 2018 at 2:20 a.m. police responded to North Front Street establishment where a woman reported her car stolen. Investigation revealed that her vehicle – a 2006 BMW 33X silver in colour bearing Ontario plates CADS-293 was stolen from the parking lot of the business. Her keys and wallet were also missing. 9-1-1 Hang-ups
Police responded to four 9-1-1 hang up calls in the previous 24-hour period. All were checked via communication with police dispatch and by having officers attend the locations to which the calls originated from. All were found to be dialed in error (accidental pocket-dials). No persons were found to be in need of any assistance.
Break and Enter
Police responded to a break and enter investigation in the north end of the city at 1:35 p.m. on March 3rd 2018. This resulted in the arrest of a 32-year old female. She was taken into custody on charges of break and enter with intent, and uttering threats to cause death.
