Storm-related issues

Belleville, Ontario – On May 4th, 2018, police responded to 15 calls during the windstorm. High winds uprooted several large trees on River Road which blocked the roadway. A barn was swept onto the roadway at Cranston Road and Zion Road. Although an excavator removed the ruined barn from roadway power lines still remain down. The road is closed at Zion Road at Cranston Rd. Two hydro poles were snapped by the high winds in Foxboro and a large tree blocked the top end of Ashley Street. Trees were also blocking on a number of roadways including Hwy 62, Pinehill Cres, Lemoine Street and Bridge Street East. There were no reported injuries.

 

 

Assault

Belleville, Ontario – On May 4th, 2018, at 3:51 p.m. officers attended on Bridge Street West in relation to an assault call. A 24-year-old Brampton man was arrested for assaulting another man. He was held for a bail hearing on May 5th, 2018. The victim received minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

 

 

Liquor Licence Act

Belleville, Ontario – On May 4th, 2018, at 3:25 p.m. officers attended on George Street as a male had fallen over and hit his head on a planter. The 35-year-old man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.

 

On May 4th, 2018, at 9:37 p.m. police attended on North Front Street at Tracey Street in relation to a woman who was wearing only a thong. The 32-year-old woman was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. She was issued a provincial offence notice.
