Car vs Light standard

 

Belleville, Ontario On October 4th, 2014, at 5:08 a.m. police attended at Coleman Street at Catharine Street as a car had sheared off the light standard. The driver, a 23 year old Belleville man, required medical attention and was transported to hospital by EMS. A passenger had fled from the crash eastbound over the footbridge.  Assisting officers located the passenger in the downtown core.  A check revealed that the passenger had been released on bail with numerous conditions including a curfew. The 21 year old Belleville man was held for bail on two counts of breaching his recognizance of bail.  Alcohol was a factor in this accident and the investigation is continuing.

 

 

 

 

Domestic Assault

 

Belleville, Ontario On October 4th, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. police attended at a residence on Octavia Street in relation to a domestic disturbance.  The officers observed that the front door was broken. Once inside they observed a damaged TV as well as damaged cupboards in the kitchen.  Officers attempted to arrest a 27 year old Belleville man for assault and mischief to property when he resisted arrest.  In the ensuing struggle the male was peppersprayed and taken into custody.  Once in the back of the cruiser the male damaged the rear door by kicking at it. The male was held for a bail hearing on charges of assault, two counts of mischief, and resisting arrest. The victim suffered minor injuries.

 

3 day suspensions

 

Belleville, Ontario On October 4th, 2014, at 5:15 p.m. officers attended at the Beer Store on Station St. in relation to a complaint of an impaired driver. A 52 year old Belleville man was issued a 3-day licence suspension.  His car was towed from the scene.

 

On October 5th, 2014, at 2:30 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on North Front Street. A 36 year old Alberta woman was issued a 3-day licence suspension.  Her car was towed from the scene.

 

 

 

Intoxicated person(s)

 

Belleville, Ontario On October 5th, 2014, at 12:10 a.m. police attended on Bridge Street East as a motorist had observed a male passed out on a front lawn. A 47 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.
