Request for Public Assistance

A joint investigation with Quinte West OPP and Belleville Police Service are requesting the public's help.

On the 5th of August 2013 at approximately 6:00am, a vehicle was reported to have crashed into several trees, and a light standard in downtown Trenton. This vehicle was last seen headed east on Dundas St towards Belleville.

On this same date , this same vehicle was reported to have crashed into a post at Dundas St and Front St in Belleville around 6:30am.

Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed either accident is requested to contact Cst Porritt Quinte West OPP or Cst Hamilton Belleville Police.

Residential Fire

Belleville, Ontario On 05 August 2013, at approximately 23:18 p.m., Belleville Fire Department and Belleville Police Service attended an active residential fire at 245 Ann St. Belleville. A 49 year old male resident was transported by ambulance from the scene with life threatening burn injuries. Tenants from other apartments within the residence have been displaced from their apartments for the time being. The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office has been contacted and the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. There is no estimate of damage at this time.
