The Belleville Police Service responded to 53 calls between June 5th 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and June 6th 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

 

 

Weapons/Assault

Belleville, Ontario – On June 2nd, 2019, Belleville Police investigated a complaint of a sexual assault. There were further offences involving a shotgun.

Members of the Belleville Emergency Response Team and the Belleville Street Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop on Coleman on June 2nd, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. Two males were arrested and held for bail hearings. The Emergency Response Team secured a residence in the west hill.

On June 3rd, 2019 a search warrant was executed at this west hill residence. Executing the search warrant were members of the Belleville Drugs/Intelligence Unit along with the Quinte West OPP Street Crime Unit.

A large amount of cocaine was seized along with Canadian currency. Also seized was a shotgun which was not safely stored.

Both males were held for bail until June 5th, 2019. Neither name will be released to protect the identity of the victim.

A 25-year-old Belleville man was charged with domestic assault, sexual assault, uttering death threats, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, weapons dangerous, unauthorized possession of a weapon without a licence, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and proceeds of crime.

A 20-year-old Belleville man was charged with pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm and weapons dangerous.

Arrested on warrants.

Belleville, Ontario- On 5 June 2019, at 11:30pm police stopped a vehicle after it was observed trying to avoid detection by pulling into a driveway. Police spoke to the female in the vehicle who had no attachment to the driveway she pulled into. A check of the female revealed her to be wanted in Halton Region, Cornwall, Cobourg, as well as Belleville for mischief and failing to attend for fingerprints. Brittany Mussgnug, 29, of no fixed address was arrested and held for a bail hearing on 6 June.

 

Fight leads to charges

Belleville, Ontario- On 5 June 2019, at 4:40pm, police were called to the area of Bridge Street East regarding three people fighting. On arrival, police observed a female striking another female several times. The female had to be restrained to stop the fight, and she was then arrested. Police then learned that the female was currently bound by a probation order to keep the peace. Sarah Hiltz, 39, of Belleville was charged with breaching her probation. She was released with a court date in June.
