Belleville, Ontario – On May 5th, 2017, at 7:33 p.m. police attended at a Cedar St. residence in relation to a 911 hang up. A 31-year-old Belleville man was arrested for assaulting a woman. He was charged with assault and will appear in court on May 29th, 2017. The victim was not injured.
On May 5th, 2017, at 10:20 p.m. police attended at a domestic disturbance on Isabel Street. It was learned that a woman and a baby had both been assaulted. Neither person sustained any injuries. A 24-year-old Belleville man was arrested for two
counts of assault and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on May 6th, 2017.
On May 6th, 2017, at 2:25 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a couple arguing on North Front Street. It was revealed that the male had struck the female. In the course of being arrested the male resisted arrest. At this point the woman jumped on the back of the officer. With the assistance of back-up officers, both were taken into custody. Alcohol was a factor in this incident. The male had identification showing that he was 20 years of age. It turned out that this male was using his brother’s identification and was only 17 years of age. He will appear in Youth Court later this month on charges of Domestic assault, resisting arrest, and obstruct police. The young woman, who was 18 years of age, was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. No one was injured in this incident.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville, Ontario – On May 5th, 2017, at 9:50 p.m. police attended at the intersection of North Front Street and Bell Blvd. in relation to a two-car accident. Airbags had been deployed and EMS attended to treat both drivers. A 17-year old woman was charged with disobeying a red light.
On May 5th, 2017, at 10:31 p.m. police attended on Dundas St. E. at Church Street in relation to a two-car accident. There was minor damage with no reported injuries.
On May 5th, 2017, at 10:38 p.m. police attended on Millenium Parkway at Hwy 62 in relation to a two-car accident. A 33-year old woman was charged with “start from a stopped position – not in safety”. There were no injuries.
Belleville, Ontario – On May 6th, 2017, at 1:10 a.m. officers attended at a disturbance at a downtown bar. A 33-year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and issued a provincial offence notice.
