Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Collision

On Thursday 05 October 2017 at 12:21 pm Police responded to a report of a 2 vehicle collision at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Herchimer Avenue. There were no injuries but one of the vehicles took off and was last seen westbound on Victoria Avenue operated by a female driver. This fail to remain vehicle is believed to be a red colored Hyundai hatchback with damage to the left front (driver’s side).

Anyone with information is asked to call Belleville Police or Crime-Stoppers.


Neighbour Dispute 

Belleville, Ontario - On the 5th of October 2017 at approx. 10:25pm, the Belleville Police Service responded to a neighbor dispute in the west end of Belleville where several people were involved in a physical altercation over a dog which was acting aggressive toward neighbours and had bit a person earlier in the evening.  As a result of the fight between neighbours, one male party was transported to BGH via EMS with minor injuries. 

While police were at the scene, the dog became very aggressive towards police and attempted to bite 2 officers.  The dog was tasered.  The dog then ran back into the house and never came out again. 

Animal Control and Health Unit officials have been contacted and will follow-up with the dog owners as a result of this incident.
