Arrested on warrants


Belleville, Ontario – On August 6th, 2016, at 6:06 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on S. John Street as the passenger was wanted on outstanding warrants. A 20-year-old Belleville man was arrested on warrants for two counts of uttering death threats and being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He was held for a bail hearing on August 7th, 2016.





Belleville, Ontario – On August 6th, 2016 at 10:16 p.m. multiple 911 calls were received about a disturbance on Dundas St. East at Haig Road. It was learned that a young couple were arguing over a knapsack that contained 92 grams of marijuana, 16 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and a set of electronic weigh scales. A passing motorist stopped to render assistance to the female. In the ensuing struggle the male suspect produced a pellet gun from his waistband and struck the motorist over the head. Other people joined in and pinned the suspect on the ground. The young couple, both18 years of age, were arrested. They both face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking of marijuana and psilocybin. A large amount of cash was seized from both parties and they were charged with proceeds of crime. In addition, the 18-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, weapons dangerous, and carrying a concealed weapon. Both will appear in court on September 15th. The motorist was treated and released.


On August 7th, 2016, at 1:55 a.m. officers attended on Catharine Street in relation to a man and a woman arguing. A 38-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for being intoxicated in a public place. There were no injuries.
