The Belleville Police Service responded to 65 calls between August 6th 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and August 7th 2018 at 5:00 a.m.

Car vs Pedestrian

Belleville, ON - On the 6th of August 2019 at 7:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a female pedestrian stuck by a vehicle at the intersection of North Front Street and Tracey Street. The vehicle, which was described as a grey SUV, failed to remain at the scene. Police are asking for any witnesses to contact Cst. Michael McCurdy at mmccurdy@police.belleville.on.ca.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, ON – On the 6th of August 2019 at 2:40 p.m., police responded to the area of Dundas Street East regarding a four vehicle collision. Minor injuries were reported and one vehicle was towed from the scene by Quinte Towing. The investigation is continuing.

 

Impaired Driver involved in Collision

Belleville, ON – On the 6th of August 2019 at 4:22 p.m., police responded to the area of Dundas Street East regarding a two vehicle collision. There were no injuries and minor damages were reported. On arrival, a police investigation ensued where police observed signs that one of the involved drivers had been drinking. As a result of the investigation, a Belleville man, 31 year old James Holmes, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired -  over 80. He has been given a court date in August to face the charges.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision – Vehicle vs Pedestrian

Belleville, ON – On the 6th of August 2019 at 4:35 p.m., police responded to the area of Bridge Street East regarding a vehicle vs pedestrian collision. An elderly female was riding her e-bike when she was struck by a motor vehicle. Minor injuries and damages were reported. Police conducted an investigation resulting in the at fault driver in the motor vehicle being charged with Turn Not In Safety under the Highway Traffic Act.

 

 

 

Motor Vehicle Collision – Fail To Remain

Belleville, ON – On the 7th of August 2019 at 12:30 a.m., police responded to the area of Dundas Street West regarding a Fail to Remain collision. There were no injuries and only minor damages reported. A police investigation led to charges for a 19 year old female. The female was charged with Fail to Report a Collision and G1 Driver Unaccompanied by a Qualified Driver.

 

Charges of Threats and Harassment

Belleville, ON – On the 6th of August 2019 at 2:10 p.m., police responded to the area of Cascade Blvd regarding harassment and threats. An investigation ensued resulting in a 47 year old Belleville man being charged with Criminal Harassment and Uttering Threats. He is being held for bail at the Belleville Police Service.

 

Female Charged with Possession of Drugs and Several Breaches

Belleville, ON – On the 7th of August 2019 at 3:00 a.m., police were patrolling the area of Catharine Street when they observed a female known to them to be breaching her bail conditions. A short foot pursuit ensued resulting in the female being apprehended and arrested. Through police investigation the 31 year old Belleville female, Danille Stapley, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Weapons Dangerous, Proceeds of Crime and six counts of Breaching her Bail Conditions. She is being held for bail at the Belleville Police Service.
