The Belleville Police Service responded to 77 calls for service between August 7th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and August 8th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Breach of Recognizance

Belleville, Ontario – On August 7th 2019 at 11:10 p.m., officers responded to the area of Front Street regarding a male acting out, making lots of noise and trying to climb the street lights. Police attended the area and found a 36 year old Belleville male who was known to them. An investigation revealed that the male was intoxicated by drugs and/or alcohol and was breaching his Recognizance. The male was arrested for Breach of Recognizance and held at the Belleville Police Service for bail.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario – On August 7th 2019 at 4:19 p.m., police responded to the area of Plaza Square regarding a two vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported and only minor damage to the vehicles. The investigation is ongoing.

Belleville, Ontario – On August 7th 2019 at 4:55 p.m., police responded to the area of Tracey Park Drive regarding a two vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported although one of the vehicles was deemed heavily damaged and not drivable. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Quinte Towing. As a result of a police investigation, the at fault driver was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

Intoxicated Person

Belleville, Ontario – On August 7th 2019 at 4:40 p.m., police responded to the area of Front Street regarding two males openly drinking alcohol. Police observed the two males and as a result of an investigation, a 71year old and a 48 year old male were both charged under the Liquor Licence Act for having and drinking from open containers of alcohol.
