Disturbances

Belleville, Ontario On August 7th, 2013, at 3:33 p.m. police attended on North Front Street at Valleyview Cres in relation to a disturbance. A 27 year old Quinte West woman was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.

On August 7th, 2013, at 4:48 p.m. police attended at 120 Victoria Avenue in relation to a large fight. Multiple callers advised that knives and bats were being used. Two Belleville men were taken into custody and several weapons were seized including a knife and an axe handle. The investigation revealed that a 27 year old Belleville man produced a knife during an argument. As he brandished the knife, a 55 year old Belleville man picked up an axe handle to defend himself. The 27 year old male was struck on the top of the head and on the arm with the axe handle, causing the younger man to lose his grip on the knife. EMS transported the 27 year old man to Quinte Health Care. His injuries consisted of a cut on the top of his head and a bruised arm. He was held for a bail hearing on August 8th on charges of Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. The 55 year old man was released unconditionally.

On August 7th, 2013, at 7:07 p.m. police attended in the area of the Bayview Mall as a motorist advised that his intoxicated son had jumped out of the moving car and was lying on the roadway. A 25 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He did not require medical attention.
