Motor Vehicle Collision – car vs cyclist
Belleville, Ontario – On July 7th, 2018, at 11:35 a.m. police attended on North Front Street at Strachan Street as a car had struck a cyclist. Paramedics attended at the scene and treated the cyclist for minor injuries. The bicycle was demolished. The investigation is continuing. 3-day licence suspension
Belleville, Ontario - On July 7th, 2018, at 12:06 p.m. police attended on Dundas Street East at Foster Avenue as a car had struck several cement curbs and one parked car. A 47-year-old Belleville man had been consuming alcohol. He was issued a 3-day licence suspension and his car was towed. There were no injuries.
Theft of money from a bank machine
Belleville, Ontario – On June 26th, 2018, a person using a bank machine in the City’s north end left their bank card behind in the bank machine. The next customer at the bank machine found the card and removed some money. This person then transferred money from several accounts and left with a total $800.00. A video of the transactions was forwarded to the investigating officer. The male party was identified and located on July 7th. Jordan Albert Smith, 33 years of age, of Belleville, was charged with theft under $5000.00. He will appear in court on August 9th, 2018.
