Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville, Ontario – Police attended to two motor vehicle collisions within the preceding 24-hour period. One collision occurred on June 7th, 2018 at 12:42 p.m. at Cannifton Road North and Maitland Drive. Minor damage only was reported. Earlier at 6:59 a.m. a car collided with a deer in the north end of the city. The animal ran off while the vehicle sustained moderate damage with airbags being deployed and sustaining a flat tire. The driver was not injured.
Arrest on warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On the early morning of June 8th, 2018 at 12:43 a.m. a keen police officer on patrol observed a female walking over the North Front Street bridge carrying 2 bags. The female looked familiar to the officer, who began to investigate. After briefly conversing and observing a tattoo confirming her identification, police arrested the female on outstanding warrants. A 29-year old Belleville woman was taken into custody on the following charges: 4 counts of theft under five thousand dollars, assault, disguise with intent, 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, failing to appear for the Identification of Criminals Act, and breach of an undertaking. The woman has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Traffic enforcement
Belleville, Ontario – On June 7th, 2018 at 6:09 p.m. a motorist was stopped in the Harriett Street area. An investigation displayed that the driver, a 33-year old Northbrook man, was a prohibited driver. His vehicle was towed and the man was issued a summons to appear in provincial traffic court in July to answer the charge.

Belleville, Ontario – Police attended to numerous other calls for assistance including alarms, traffic complaints, unwanted persons, landlord and tenant problems, suspicious persons, and six 9-1-1 hang-ups. All matters were solved peacefully. All 9-1-1’s were solved as accidental / pocket dial.
