Belleville Police Service responded to 81 calls for service from the 07th of June 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 08th of June 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Shoplifter and probation breach

Belleville, Ontario – On the 7th of June 2019 at 6:45 p.m. police responded to a north end retail store in relation to a 25 year old Belleville male who was arrested for theft by store security. Further investigation revealed that the suspect, Christopher Gray, was also on a number of probation orders. Gray was transported to The Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a promise to appear with charges including theft and three counts of breaching his probation. Gray will be in court on July 4th to answer to the allegations.

Motor vehicle collisions

Belleville, Ontario – Belleville police responded to 10 motor vehicle collisions in the past 24 hrs. including a serious two vehicle collision that sent five to hospital. The collision, that involved a van with five occupants and a car with one, was called in shortly before midnight and occurred at the intersection of Moira St. W. and Yeoman St. The Belleville Police Traffic Management and Forensic Units were called in for investigation and re-construction. At the time of this release, the investigation is still active and the full extent of the injuries is unknown.
