Knife Incident
Belleville, Ontario – On May 7th, 2017, at 2:11 p.m. multiple calls were received about a disturbance on Catharine Street at Murney Street. One of the males had brandished a large knife. The suspect was located on Holloway and arrested without incident. A large butcher knife was recovered during the arrest. A 21-year old Belleville man was held for a bail hearing on charges of weapons dangerous, assault with a weapon, and breach of probation. No one was injured during the incident.
Car strikes house
Belleville, Ontario – On May 7th, 2017, at 3:38 p.m. police attended on Bridge Street East west of Herchimer Avenue as a car had struck a house. EMS attended and transported the driver to Quinte Health Care. Members of the Traffic Safety Unit conducted an investigation which revealed that a parked car had also been struck. There will be no charges as the driver was in medical distress at the time of the accident.
Break and Enter
Belleville, Ontario – On May 7th, 2017, at 4:40 p.m. a homeowner on Clifford Street reported that his home had been broken into. A quantity of jewelry had been taken. Anyone with information on this break-in can call Constable Charbonneau at 966-0882 ext. 4144 or Quinte Crimestoppers.
