Weapons Belleville, Ontario

 

At 1:00pm 7thOctober 2014, alert Faculty and students at Loyalist College contacted police to report a suspicious male on campus.  Police received updates that the male was in possession of a knife and had been showing it off to students.  The male did not brandish the weapon or utter threats to anyone with the knife.  A police liaison officer was on site at the time of the report and removed the male to a secure area away from other students.  The male became confrontational and resisted arrest by officers.  He was subdued with the deployment of oleoresin capsicum spray.

 

Officers received minor injuries during the arrest of the male. 

 

Charged with one count each of weapons dangerous, assault police, resist arrest and possession of a controlled substance is 24 year of Shane Patrick Sabourin of Carleton Place Ontario.  He will appear in court on the 8th October 2014.
